Kia Sales Up 37.1 Percent This Year

Kia continues to surprise the press and consumers by consistently exceeding our expectations. The latest news from Kia yet again resets expectations. In only 9 months, Kia has beat all of their previously held annual sales records!

Kia Motors America (KMA) recently announced that as of September, they have set new sales records for 13 consecutive months. The 18.4-percent (35,609 units) increase over this time in 2010 is largely due to sales of the American-built Kia Sorento, and the popular Kia Optima.

Sales increased by 16.3 percent outside of the United States, with 217,736 Kia units sold across the globe in September alone.  Areas making up total sales include:

  • China (45.9-percent increase)
  • Europe (20.6-percent increase)
  • Korea (4.4-percent increase)

In its 16thth straight year of growth (yes, 16 consecutive years), the Kia brand continues to evolve. Byung Mo Ahn, Group President, KMA, said in a statement, "Kia has become one of the fastest growing car companies in the U.S., and breaking our sales record in less than nine months is the result of our dramatic brand transformation and our diverse lineup."1.

Central Kia of Irving is proud to represent Kia, a company who prides themselves on evolving in the name of quality, design, value and safety. Stayed tuned, and don't hesitate to contact us with any of your questions about Kia news or the ever-evolving Kia lineup.
